Acupressure

Acupressure

Acupressure is an ancient Chinese technique based on the principles of acupuncture and involves the use of finger or devices pressure (without the needles) on specific points along the body. Acupressure is a way of accessing and releasing blocked or congested energy centers in the body. In Chinese medicine, energy and blood are closely related. The energy channels are pathways for both energy and blood. When a finger touches an acupressure point, the energy flowing in the channel is attracted to the surface. Acupressure healing touch reduces tension, increases circulation, and enables the body to relax deeply. By relieving stress, acupressure therapy strengthens resistance to diseases and promotes wellness. By holding points in a specific sequence, energy can be increased where it is lacking or dispersed where it is overabundant.
